Native Frangipani
Hymenosporum flavum
Hymenosporum flavum is commonly known as the native Frangipani, although it is not related to the exotic form. A rainforest tree native to Queensland and New South Wales, it is a medium sized tree that bears highly fragrant flower clusters that start out cream and turn to yellow. The flowers are great for attracting birds and native bees. Very hardy and adaptable, it grows well over a wide range of soils and conditions.
