Coolamon
Syzygium moorii
A native rainforest lilly pilly, the Coolamon tree, also known as Rose Apple or Watermelon Tree, is endemic to Northern NSW and up to the Queensland border. When young it is quite upright with tightly held branches but with age the tree opens up. It flowers along the trunk and branches, usually in November. It has large white fruit that appear in Autumn, which are juicy and edible but have little flavour.
