Cats Whiskers
Orthosiphon aristatus
Cat’s Whiskers is a fast growing, small, native herbaceous shrub with gorgeous, unusual flowers in white or purple throughout spring and summer. People are often surprised this is a native plant and it sits very comfortably in a tropical, subtropical or in a cottage garden with ornamentals. It is happiest in part shade and suits most soil types. Trim off spent flower heads during summer for a tidy shrub and prune in autumn after flowering.
